In Snow Bros, the player controls one of the two snowmen characters - Nick or Tom. The goal of the game is to reach the end of each level by covering enemies in snow, rolling them around and pushing the snowball containing the enemy off the screen, gathering power-ups and avoiding dangers. There are several different kinds of power-ups, as well as creatures to battle and ways of fighting them off. Generally, any monster can be turned into a snowball by throwing enough snow on him. Once turned, the snowball can be rolled around the screen to knock out other creatures and snowballs, and in such way clear them off the stage. There are fifty different stages in the game and a boss after every ten levels. If the player takes too much time to clear the stage, additional immune monsters will appear. The game was released on many differrent platforms, including the NES, Amiga, Atari ST, Sega Genesis, ZX Spectrum and Commodore 64.
